For its Fall/Winter 2025 womenswear collection, Louis Vuitton returns to the essence of its heritage: the art of travel. Set against a backdrop resembling a grand train concourse, the show transports its audience to the golden age of 19th-century rail travel—an era that cemented the house’s legacy in luxury luggage making. This period saw the evolution of Louis Vuitton’s signature trunks, later refined through the decades into soft-sided designs, including the now-iconic Keepall.

Helmed by creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, the collection explored voluminous silhouettes through an intricate interplay of textures and prints. Functional, everyday essentials were reimagined—sheer raincoats, leather Bermuda shorts, gingham ponchos, and floral frocks were harmonized through a cohesive palette of deep reds, forest greens, crisp whites, and inky blacks. Yet, beyond the practicality of the garments, dramatic embellishments introduced a sense of opulence into the collection. Luxe fur trims, gleaming metallic accessories, and delicate lace accents elevated traditional travel attire, demonstrating Nicolas’ masterful approach to layering textures and colors with contemporary sophistication.

With its lineup of bags, the Maison embraced a more playful and somewhat unconventional direction, breathing new life into Louis Vuitton’s most recognizable designs. Notable pieces included a monogrammed violin case, an ice-blue shearling-covered duffle, an apricot-hued croc-embossed bag, and a whimsical lamp-post purse that punctuated the collection’s final look.
